Petitions over South Tyneside speed limit plans

Measures to reduce the speed limit have prompted a mixed response from residents of a South Tyneside estate.

The council has proposed a 20mph limit, as well as speed bumps in parts of South Boldon.

A petition supporting the moves has been handed in, along with one objecting to road humps in one of the residential areas, the Lyndons.

People are invited to air their views at a meeting at East Boldon Junior School on 6 January.
