Woman arrested after man dies in A189 Cramlington crash

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested after a man died when his car overturned in Northumberland.

The 19-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his Renault Clio as he drove along the A189 in Cramlington on Saturday.

The arrested woman was driving a car on the same stretch of road at the time of the incident.

She was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed until May.

The man's 18-year-old woman passenger was injured and taken to hospital.

Police are trying to piece together what happened.
