Prudhoe sewers to get £350,000 upgrade

Sewers in a Northumberland town are to get a £350,000 upgrade to prevent flooding.

Northumbrian Water said the work would take six months and involve replacing old pipes in Prudhoe.

The upgrade will help to protect properties in Castlefields Drive and Rolley Way, which are vulnerable to flooding.

A spokesman for Northumbrian Water said workers would try to keep disruption to a minimum. The work starts on 7 March.
