Police probe 'sudden death' on Northumberland beach

An investigation is under way into the sudden death of a man on a beach in Northumberland.

Police were called to an area of Seaton Sluice, known as the Links, after members of the public expressed concern.

An ambulance crew also attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed he may have been speaking with an individual or couple walking a dog shortly before he died and officers are keen to speak to them.

No details of his identity have as yet been released.
