Gateshead leisure centre opens after revamp

Swimming pool improvements were among the work carried out
The doors of a Gateshead leisure centre have been reopened following a £5.1m redevelopment.
Work to transform Dunston Leisure Centre took 12 months and was part of a £36m project to replace or revamp leisure facilities in the town.
It now includes a gym, fitness studios and swimming pool improvements.
Other projects are improvements to Birtley Swimming Centre and Gateshead International Stadium.
Blaydon Leisure Centre and Primary Care Centre, Heworth Leisure Centre and Gateshead Leisure Centre have already been opened.
