Police name cyclist killed in Northumberland crash

Police have named a cyclist who died when her bike collided with a van in Northumberland.

Elizabeth Brown, 43, who died in hospital, was from Jesmond in Newcastle, Northumbria Police said.

Ms Brown was cycling along the A189 Spine Road, near Cramlington, when the crash happened on Wednesday morning.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. Police are appealing for witnesses.
