Robber threatens Newcastle shop staff with knife

A man threatened off licence workers with a knife before stealing chocolate and cigarettes worth £14.

The robber picked up the goods in Westgate Wines, Westgate Road, Newcastle, on Sunday afternoon and went to leave without paying.

When staff challenged him he threatened them with the weapon before running off. They were uninjured but shocked.

He was tanned, about 6ft 2in (1.8m), muscular and wearing black jogging bottoms. He was carrying a rucksack.
