Two men arrested after crowbar attack in North Tyneside

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray after a man was attacked with a crowbar in North Tyneside.

The incident happened on Churchill Street, Wallsend, shortly after 13:00 GMT on Sunday when a 22-year-old man was assaulted.

The victim was taken to North Tyneside Hospital with facial injuries, which are not described as life threatening.

Two men, aged 22 and 30, were later arrested and are being questioned by Northumbria Police.
