Man charged with brother's manslaughter in Morpeth

A man has been charged in connection with the death of his brother in a Northumberland town.

Michael Marshall, 52, a pub karaoke singer known as Little Elvis, died in hospital after an assault in Sanderson Arcade, Morpeth, on 23 August.

Police have now charged Anthony Marshall, of Broom Road, Carrville, County Durham, with manslaughter.

The 50-year-old is due to appear before magistrates in Bedlington on 12 December.

The dead man was a regular at The Black Bull pub in the town and at Morpeth Comrades Club, where he was known by his nickname and served on the club committee.
