Liverpool man's arrest linked to Tyneside drug raid
A man has been arrested after drugs with an estimated street value of £4m were recovered from a Liverpool house.
A joint operation involving police from Tyneside and Merseyside saw heroine, cocaine and the drug BZP seized from a property in the city on Friday.
The 28-year-old, from Mossgate Road, Dovecot, Liverpool, has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply Class A, B and C drugs.
He is due before magistrates in Newcastle later.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police, which is leading the investigation, said the arrest was linked to an operation last month in which a large quantity of cocaine was recovered from a house in the Kibblesworth area of Gateshead.
That resulted in five men being charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
