John Blackburn guilty of murdering sister's partner

A man has been found guilty of stabbing his sister's boyfriend to death during a row at a party in County Durham.

Cole Wilson, 20, died of stab wounds to the head and chest at a house in Sledmere Close, Peterlee, on 18 September 2011.

John Blackburn, of Holywell Avenue, Walker, had denied his murder, but was found unanimously guilty by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court.

The 20-year-old was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
