Unlicensed driver charged over death of cyclist

A man from Sunderland has been charged with causing death while driving without a licence after a cyclist died in a collision in Tyne and Wear.

William Moon, 54, of Hylton Castle, was charged following the accident in Cherry Blossom Way in Washington at about 22:00 GMT on 25 January.

The cyclist, Lee Anthony Davison, 31, from Sulgrave in Washington, died as a result of his injuries.

Mr Moon will appear at Sunderland Magistrates' Court on 8 May.
