Two boys have been charged with the murder of a North Tyneside teenager who died following an attack outside a pub.

Rikki Todd, 19, of Camperdown, was assaulted on Christmas Eve outside the Halfway House pub on Station Road.

He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious head injuries. He died on 27 December.

Two 17-year-olds have been charged with murder and are due to appear at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

A 15-year-old and two men, aged 18 and 19, arrested in connection with the death will face no further police action.
