Man, 31, arrested after man shot in Walker

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in Newcastle.

A 24-year-old man arrived at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary on 16 April with a bullet wound in his arm.

Police then sealed off the area around Monkchester Road, Walker, as part of the investigation.

A 31-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody.

A man, 24, arrested last week on suspicion of wounding and a woman, 30, arrested last week on suspicion of assisting an offender have been bailed.
