Stepson gets life for stab murder of County Durham man

A man who killed his stepfather in County Durham has been sentenced to life in prison.

Christopher Hodgson, 20, was found guilty at Newcastle Crown Court, and will serve a minimum of 17 years for the murder of Steven McIntyre, 37.

It happened at the home of Mr McIntyre in Austen Place, Stanley, in the early hours of 19 November 2011.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr McIntyre died from multiple wounds to the chest.
