Three men are charged after Ryton £3.4m cocaine seizure

Three men have been charged after cocaine with an estimated street value of £3.4m was seized on Tyneside.

Northumbria Police said officers searched a house in Dean Terrace, Ryton on Thursday and found 14kg of the drug.

A spokesman said the haul was one of the largest ever recovered in the north-east of England.

He said the three men, aged 36, 37 and 44, had been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and were due in court on Saturday.
