Seven arrested after South Shields stab attack

Seven people have been arrested after two people were stabbed on South Tyneside.

Police were called to the disturbance on Tasmania Road, South Shields, at about 21:30 BST on Tuesday.

A man and a woman were taken to hospital with stab wounds, believed to have been caused by a knife, although they were not seriously hurt.

Northumbria Police said those arrested were being questioned by detectives over the incident.
