Police have arrested nine men and a woman in drugs raids across Newcastle and North Tyneside.

The raids took place at nine addresses as part of an investigation into cocaine and amphetamine dealing.

Men aged 53, 52, 49 (two), 45, 33, 32, 31, and 25, and a woman aged 34 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs.

Drugs worth up to £1.75m have already been seized as part of the investigation.

The investigation focuses on the Walker and Longbenton areas, but searches have taken place in Byker and Forest Hall.
