Pedestrian killed in A192 lorry collision

A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a lorry in North Tyneside.

Graham Oxley died when was struck on the A192 in West Monkseaton, on Tuesday, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was 49 and lived in Hazeldene, Whitley Bay, police said. The 51-year-old driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened on Earson Road, close to the Monkseaton Drive roundabout at 16:45 BST, have been asked to contact police.
