Thousands of people have arrived at Seaburn and Roker seafront for the 26th Sunderland International Airshow.

An opening ceremony took place on Friday evening with a concert and fireworks, although low cloud forced the cancellation of a flying display.

Attractions on show until Sunday include the Red Arrows, wing walkers, and an aerobatic team.

The BBC World War One at Home tour will allow people the chance to explore their relatives' links to the war.

BBC Newcastle is the official radio station for the show and is broadcasting from the seafront across the weekend.
