Cramlington arrest over 'suspicious chemicals'

Police have arrested a man after what they described as suspicious chemicals were found at a house in Northumberland.

Officers called to a house in Ridley Street, Cramlington, on Thursday, found a number of liquids, which were removed for testing by a bomb disposal unit.

A man, 36 is being held on suspicion of importing offensive weapons.

The man remains in custody and Northumbria Police said it appeared to be an isolated matter.
