Man arrested after 'no crime' rape cases reopened

A man has been arrested after Northumbria Police reopened more than 150 "no crime" rape cases.

The 27-year-old was arrested on Monday in connection with a rape which happened in Jesmond in October 2010.

Northumbria Police said he had been held on suspicion of raping a female aged 16 or over. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.
