Biker killed in A1(M) barrier crash named as Brian Gee

A man who died when his motorcycle crashed on a Tyneside motorway has been named by police.

Brian Gee, 46, of Holburn Place, Newcastle, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A1 (M) near the Washington Service Station.

Northumbria Police said Mr Gee struck the central reservation and came off his motorcycle, at about 11:05 BST on Saturday.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
