Two men arrested in South Shields rape investigation

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of rape following an attack in South Tyneside.

The attack was reported to have taken place at an address in Hyde Street, South Shields, on Sunday 28 February.

Northumbria Police said they would like to speak to a taxi driver who may have taken the victim to Hyde Street at about 03:00 GMT.

Det Con Alison Brown said: "The taxi driver may have information that can help in our inquiries."
