Five-day blitz on Durham's riverside

A five-day campaign to spruce up Durham's riverside area begins on Monday.

Durham County Council will join forces with volunteers and local traders to collect litter and carry out minor environmental improvements.

A new riverside ranger, Paul Parker, has been appointed and is responsible for cleaning-up the area.

He will join volunteers for a walkabout on the look-out for fly-tipping and graffiti in the area.
