Police investigating the rape of a woman in her Durham home have released CCTV images of potential witnesses.

The woman, in her late 20s, was asleep on a sofa in her house on the Newton Hall estate, when she was attacked by a man early on 12 July.

He is thought to have got in through an unlocked front door.

Durham Police have released CCTV images of two women and a man who were in the area the previous evening who they believe might have vital information.

The three potential witnesses were in the Rothbury Road and Middleham Road area at about 1830 BST on 11 July.

Officers are also appealing for anyone else who was in the area between Sunday evening and Monday morning to contact them.
