Drivers warned of A1(M) closure in County Durham

  • Published

A stretch of motorway on County Durham is to be closed overnight while engineering work is carried out.

Both carriageways of the A1(M) will be shut between Junction 60 at Bradbury and Junction 61 at Bowburn from 2000 BST.

The closure is to allow workmen to replace overhead electrical cables.

Diversions will be put in place by the Highways Agency, and the road is due to re-open fully at about 0900 BST on Sunday.
