Students burn a sign during their fees protest
Durham students burned one of their signs as a protest over plans to hike up tuition fees.
More than 100 marched through Durham City to the university in Old Elvet to hand in a petition against the education shake-up.
The students gathered in the city's market place on Wednesday ahead of an MP vote on tuition fees which will be held on Thursday.
The Government is proposing to increase fees to up to £9,000 a year.
