Man arrested over death of County Durham baby

A man has been arrested over the death of a baby in County Durham.

Durham Police said hospital staff alerted officers to the death of the 13-month-old boy on Saturday evening.

A 31-year-old man, who has not been named but is from the Tantobie area, was later arrested and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A Durham Police spokeswoman said a post-mortem examination on the baby had proved to be inconclusive. No further details are being released.
