Motorists are being warned to expect delays as repairs are carried out to a bridge on a main road in Sunderland.
The work on the east bridge of Lambton interchange over the A195 in Washington starts on Monday and is expected to take eight weeks.
It will include repairs to the bridge deck, re-waterproofing and resurfacing the carriageway.
The east bridge will be closed with traffic diverted by the A195/ A182 Washington Highway Interchange.
There will also be lane closures on the A195 and a 50mph speed limit.
The Lambton/Wear Industrial Estate footbridge will be repaired at the same time.
The work is due to take four weeks during which the bridge will be closed and a diversion set up.
