Seventy five suspected burglars arrested in Sunderland

Dozens of suspected burglars have been arrested in a police crackdown on Wearside.

Since Operation Predator was launched three weeks ago, 75 people have been arrested and 50 houses searched, Northumbria Police said.

Drugs and stolen property have also been recovered during the operation in Sunderland, Washington and Houghton.

Officers have also stopped more than 180 suspicious vehicles and used 30 warrants to search properties.
