Teenager beaten during Swindon robbery

A teenager was beaten by three youths after he refused to give them his bicycle.

A police spokesman said the 17-year-old was cycling home in Swindon on Tuesday when he was stopped by the three, who demanded he hand the bike over.

When he refused, he was punched to the face, pulled to the floor and repeatedly kicked and punched.

A police spokesman it happened just off Rushmere Path in Haydon Wick at about 2215 BST.

The attackers took the youth's mobile phone and an item of his clothing.

They are described as white and aged about 17.

Two were wearing hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms, and the third had a shaved head and was wearing a grey zip-up jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

The victim needed hospital treatment.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
