Man Tasered after Wiltshire iron bar attack

A man has been Tasered after he attacked Wiltshire Police officers with an iron bar.

The incident happened on Sidmouth Street, in Devizes, at about 1045 BST after the man is thought to have smashed the window of an empty shop.

A force spokesman said one officer was hit in the face by the 27-year-old and suffered facial injuries and concussion.

An officer discharged the Taser and the man was arrested.

The police spokesman said a second officer suffered an arm injury. Both were taken to hospital.

The arrested man was taken to Melksham Police Station.
