Swindon man jailed for killing girlfriend in flat fire

A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for starting a fire that caused the death of his girlfriend.

James Larkin, 33, from Eastleaze, Swindon, was convicted of manslaughter and and arson with intent to endanger life at Bristol Crown Court in June.

Anita Harris, 39, was found dead in the burnt-out flat the couple shared in Frampton Close on 22 September 2009.

Speaking after the case, Det Insp Matt Davey said the judge had passed an appropriate sentence.
