Man released after dog stabbed in Chippenham

A man who was arrested after a dog was stabbed in Wiltshire has been released without charge.

Police found a Rottweiler with stab wounds when they were called to a disturbance at a house in Wood Lane, Chippenham on Saturday.

The man was arrested in Market Place on suspicion of criminal damage and affray following a search.

The dog later died from its injuries. Wiltshire Police said investigations were continuing.
