Pedestrian hit by taxi in Devizes

A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a taxi in a Wiltshire town.
Police said the Nissan struck the man in Market Place, Devizes, at about 0220 GMT on Sunday.
The 33-year-old has been taken to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol with suspected head injuries, a police spokesman said.
The road was closed for two-and-a-half hours for investigations. Police have appealed for witnesses.
