Wiltshire fire crews were called simultaneously to two separate accidents in the county on Wednesday.
Two cars were in collision on the A303 at Chicklade. Cutting equipment was used to remove the roof of one to allow paramedics to reach a trapped occupant.
And a vehicle crashed on the A360 at Druid's Lodge, trapping one person who also had to be cut free.
Both accidents happened just before 1700 GMT and both roads were closed as a result.
