Warning over Wiltshire home security scam

Published
Elderly people in Wiltshire are being warned about a home security scam that is in operation.
The county's Trading Standards said companies were cold-calling residents saying an offer would give them a home security survey and system for £1.
The callers then get the residents to sign contracts for more than £6,000, the spokeswoman said.
If people change their minds, they are charged a fee to have the systems removed.
The spokeswoman urged people to report the scams to Consumer Direct.
