Andover couple killed in crash with lorry in Salisbury

An 80-year-old man from Andover has died in hospital after a crash in Salisbury in which his wife also died.

Patrick Lavelle, 80, was driving when his car was in a head-on collision with a lorry on the A36 Southampton Road at about 1100 GMT on Friday.

He and his wife, Monica, also 80, were taken to Salisbury District Hospital. Mrs Lavelle died later the same day.

Wiltshire Police said they wanted to trace the driver of a metallic blue Honda Jazz seen on the A36 at the time.
