Police investigating a sex assault on a 49-year-old woman in Salisbury are asking for help to identify a man seen in the area on CCTV.

The attack happened just after midnight on Saturday in Elizabeth Gardens.

A 19-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police now want to trace a man seen on CCTV in High Street and Crane Bridge Road.

He is described as white, aged between 18 and 25, with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket and was a smoker.

Det Sgt Mike Standing said: "Our specially trained officers have been working with the victim to establish the exact sequence of events that night and to offer her support."

He said he wanted to speak to anyone who had seen the man in the area of High Street, Elizabeth Gardens or Lush House car park that evening.
