BBC Wiltshire presenter Sandy Martin's funeral held

The funeral of BBC Wiltshire's Sandy Martin has taken place at Christ Church in Swindon's Old Town.

The radio presenter died on 17 March at the age of 53 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The funeral service was followed by a private committal.

The cortege passed BBC Wiltshire at Prospect Place en route to the church. Mr Martin's family said they had been overwhelmed by messages of support.

Singer and actor Jonathan Wilkes, who lives in Wootton Bassett, said Mr Martin was an extremely special person.

"Sandy was a very happy-go-lucky man who was always pleased to see you.

"He did nothing but support me. When I met him at the Wyvern Theatre he was always raving about his two twins. I can only say God love them and his partner.

"Sandy you'll be very missed," Mr Wilkes added.
