Third Devizes community survey in three months defended

Households in an area of Wiltshire are being asked to fill out their third survey asking for personal information in as many months.

Following the Wiltshire Housing Survey and the Census, the Devizes Community Area Partnership is surveying for opinions on what could be improved.

The Wiltshire Forum of Community Area Partnerships has defended its worth.

Manager Laura Pictor described the survey as a "very important piece of work".

She said: "It gives communities the opportunity to say what their needs are.

"It really is democracy working at a real grassroots level."

The Devizes Community Area Partnership is one of 16 currently running in Wiltshire.

While they have no decision-making power, the information they gather will form a "Community Plan" which is used by Wiltshire Council to help decide where their budget is spent.
