Ambulance crashes on 999 call near Cricklade

An ambulance carrying a patient who had suffered a cardiac arrest collided with two vehicles in Wiltshire.

The Great Western Ambulance Service vehicle was carrying a 79-year-old man from Cirencester to Swindon.

It collided with two cars, which were badly damaged, one of which then struck a parked car which in turn then hit another unoccupied vehicle.

No-one was injured in the collision and the patient was taken in another ambulance to Great Western Hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident, which happened at The Street, Latton, near Cricklade, at 0905 BST on Saturday, to contact them.
