Swindon cheque-cashing business targeted by burglars

Thieves have stolen thousands of pounds in cash and vouchers from a cheque-cashing company in Swindon.

Police said a door at Winslow Brothers in Commercial Road was forced open with a sledgehammer and a safe broken into using a disc-cutter and crowbar.

The burglars took a large amount of US dollars and 100-euro bills, £2,500 in coins, £1,000 worth of Asda supermarket vouchers and some jewellery.

The break-in tools, which appeared to be new, were left at the scene.

Police are appealing for information about the burglary, which happened some time between 1830 BST on Thursday and 0800 BST on Friday.
