Wiltshire Fire and Rescue appoint new chief

Wiltshire's deputy fire officer Simon Routh-Jones has been appointed as the county's new fire chief.

Mr Routh-Jones has been acting as chief since the retirement of the previous manager, Andy Goves, in April.

Robert Hall, the chairman of the fire authority, said Mr Routh-Jones was selected after a "thorough process".

Mr Routh-Jones said: "I have spent my entire career within the fire service in Wiltshire, and I have nothing but admiration for our personnel."
