Nearly 50 soldiers based at Larkhill, Wiltshire, have been presented with medals after serving in Afghanistan.

The soldiers from 32 Regiment Royal Artillery remotely control the unmanned aircraft, which delivers live video to ground units in Helmand.

The men received their Operation Herrick medals at Roberts Barracks from the veteran footballer Sir Geoff Hurst.

The British Army's Hermes 450 has provided more than 30,000 hours of service in Afghanistan.

Presenting the medals, Sir Geoff said it had been an honour to be in the soldiers' company.
