Swindon young wardens scheme is extended

A scheme that encourages children in Swindon to help make a difference in their community has been extended to additional parts of the town.

The Young Wardens scheme, launched in Penhill a year ago, will now include Toothill, Freshbrook and Pinehurst.

It sees children aged between seven and 11 assist the borough council's neighbourhood wardens.

They will also take part in activities including litter-picking, visiting Swindon fire station and a nature walk.

The scheme will run throughout the summer holidays.
