Swindon petrol station held up by two teenage robbers

Two youths have stolen a sum of money after holding up a petrol station cashier at knife point in Swindon.

The robbery took place at the Esso garage on Kingshill in the town on Friday at about 20:20 GMT.

Wiltshire Police have said the station was empty at the time with the forecourt closed off after the recent panic buying of fuel.

Police have not said how much money was taken. The cashier was left shaken, although unharmed in the attack.

One of the boys, believed to be about 16 years old, approached the cashier with a knife.

Both of the culprits were described as white, wearing dark coloured hoodies with the hoods up and bandanas covering their faces.

They ran off along the nearby canal tow path.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
