Owner of Wiltshire farm 'will rebuild' after blaze

The owner of a farm visitor centre near Swindon which was badly damaged in a fire has vowed to rebuild.

The blaze broke out at Roves Farm at Sevenhampton, on Wednesday.

Nearly 40 firefighters were called into tackle the blaze and deal with debris which was falling from the asbestos roof.

The crews managed to save most of the building, but part was badly damaged. Owner Rupert Burr said it was fortunate the damage was not more extensive.

Mr Burr said the centre would be rebuilt but it could be months before it would be ready to reopen.

A Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the cause of the fire was being investigated, but there were no suspicious circumstances.
