Pewsey anerobic digester damaged by vandals

Vandals have caused up to £100,000 worth of damage to an eco-plant at a farm in Wiltshire.

The roof of the anerobic digester tank at a Stowell Farms site in Pewsey was slashed some time in the past two weeks, a farm spokeswoman said.

Once up and running, the energy it generates is due to go into the National Grid to supply electricity to the equivalent of 1,000 homes.

Wiltshire Police said its commissioning had been delayed by the attack.

The farm is now installing CCTV and police are appealing for witnesses.
